Any Critical Care

Critical Care refers to the specialized care provided to patients who are experiencing life-threatening conditions or those who require intensive monitoring and treatment due to severe illnesses or injuries. This type of care typically takes place in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Critical Care Unit (CCU), where patients are closely monitored by a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other specialists.

Medical Critical Care: Involves intensive monitoring and treatment for medical conditions, such as infections, sepsis, or organ failure.
Surgical Critical Care: Focuses on patients who require intensive care following major surgery, trauma, or serious injury.

Many critical care patients require mechanical ventilation to help them breathe, particularly those with respiratory failure. Oxygen therapy may also be administered to ensure proper oxygenation of the body’s tissues. Some patients may need central venous lines, arterial lines, or catheters to measure pressure inside organs or blood vessels. Critical care patients who are experiencing significant blood loss or who have anemia may require blood transfusions to restore oxygen-carrying capacity and support organ function.
